Officers

President

Coordinate the work of all officers and committees; preside over all PTA meetings; appoint the chair of each standing committee and special committee; meet with the principal prior to the beginning of the school year to see what the needs of the school are; plan out the school year PTA calendar with the Principal

Vice President

Assist the PTA President; preside over meetings in the absence of the President; responsible for membership (encouraging families, staff, and the community to join WRE PTA; report membership to Texas PTA within five days of members joining). Also oversee all volunteer roles to promote good relations between school and community; determine and implement the best methods of recruiting volunteers to meet the needs of the school and PTA activities; recruit volunteers throughout the year; recognize volunteers; evaluate volunteer program success after each event

Secretary

Record the minutes of all Board and Membership PTA meetings; maintain the required documents of the association (FOUNDATIONS training completion lists, records retention policy; adopted and signed ethics/conflict of interest policy, membership rosters adopted plans of work)

Treasurer

Have custody of all the funds of the association; present a written and verbal financial report at Board and Membership meetings; maintain books of account and records including bank statements, receipts, budgets, invoices, paid receipts and canceled checks in accordance with the records retention policy; complete and file all necessary tax documents; and present books of account and records to the financial reconciliation committee

Parliamentarian

Advise the presiding officer on questions of parliamentary procedure when asked; vote only when the vote is by ballot

standing committee chairs

Create content and maintain website and social media pages with information pertaining to the PTA and the school

Communications Chair

Coordinate events throughout the year to engage families (ex: dance, Donuts with Grownups, movie night, etc.)

Family Engagement Chair

Fundraising Chair

 

Research and present fall fundraiser idea to the Board and Membership for approval; coordinate and execute fundraisers throughout the year (fall fundraiser, ongoing Spirit Nights, Carnival); outreach to local businesses for sponsorship and donation opportunities

Grade Level Chair

 

Recruit and gather room parent contact information; hold an initial room parent meeting in September to explain expectations; coordinate with all Room Representatives and Lead Teachers regarding class parties; address any other needs that the teacher/grades require

Staff Appreciation Chair

 

Execute events throughout the year to celebrate and recognize staff; refresh snacks monthly for Stock the Lounge; plan Staff Appreciation Week (first full week of May)

Student Programs Chair

Manage school Reflections program; coordinate school-wide assemblies, as requested; coordinate special programs for school program nights (ex: program during STEM night); research and implement enrichment activities/clubs for students
